I Want to Sing a New Song!
I love the classics. I’ve performed them. They run through my veins. I’ve played four part fugues of Bach. Concertos of Mozart. Sonatas of Beethoven. Etudes of Chopin. I’ve conducted choruses from Handel’s Oratorio, “Messiah,” and have taught singers how to conquer the roulades and melismas of “For Unto Us a Child is Born”. I have performed Rachmaninov’s Second with orchestra. I love the classics.
But there is a reason why almost every time “song” is mentioned in the Scriptures, the descriptor, “new” precedes it. There is a freedom in newness. But that is too vague...more specifically, there is freedom in Nothing But Jesus.
So...I want to sing a new song...and not just musically...but in my life. And lead others to do the same.
