He is Risen!

This morning, my sermon was on John 20-21...that "seeing is believing" and that now "believing leads to seeing."

Thomas said that he wouldn't believe unless he put his finger in the nail prints and his hand in the side of Jesus. Can you blame him? Once Thomas saw Jesus, a full 8 days after the other disciples had seen him, Thomas made an advanced Christological proclamation about Jesus that would be worked out by the early church for the next 300 years, he said, "My Lord and my God." And then Jesus said, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Those who have not seen and yet have believed were John's original readers and you and me...and Jesus said there is a special place for us...that we are "blessed."

Something happened that weekend. I believe what happened is Jesus rose from the dead and lives today. Happy Easter, everyone!
