The Rose

On this Opening Day for the MLB…check out this painting.

These are all the legendary Phillies in the entrance to the Diamond Club. If you zoom in to the little side table next to the chairs you see something pretty amazing. It is a rose that the artist used to depict Pete Rose. Pete Rose was not only banned from baseball for gambling on baseball, but his IMAGE was banned from being displayed in any ballparks. The artist, being a huge Pete Rose fan, snuck in the rose as symbolic of Pete Rose’s presence among the Phillies greats.
