Blending Preaching and Music

As a trained concert pianist, I see so many parallels between preaching and playing the piano. I love using music…yes even playing music in the midst of a sermon…as a way of communicating the Gospel. I come from not only a family of preachers but a family of musicians. My cousin Natalie, a concert violinist and also an amazing worship leader, is one of those great musicians. This was played during a sermon series I did at Christmas called "The Songs of Christmas.” Each week, we would play a great Christmas hymn and tie it into the Scriptural background of the song.
